The newsletter has a new overhead picture of the site works (above) and also notes construction work on site continues to progress towards handing over buildings for commissioning later in the year.

- At present the Houseblock (block b) currently has a large amount of activity with roofers, electricians and decorators working both inside and out of the building . On the external of the building the steel for the roof is being erected on the wings and roofing sheets will start shortly on the first wing. Internal works are progress ing on this block with screeding works near completion, mechanical, electrical and decoration works are all on-going.
- The support building, outside the fence at the front of the prison , the internal fit out is well underway with internal flooring and decorating taking place.
- Ancillary building works are progressing well with the pre-cast erection to the main kitchen complete. The steel for the roof of this building will commence shortly. The Workshop Building is also progressing with cladding 80% complete.
There is further detail of the ‘local’ spend and employment, noting 61% of those working on
site in March were local with £31.5m spend committed local business to date. Of course the usual ‘local’ map is provided below as the definition is slightly wider than you may think, being 50 miles or an hour commute, however with the recent A483 delays that could mean living in Llay.
